WHAT IS THIS?
This is an original, UNOFFICIAL custom soundtrack for After Burner II for the Sega Megadrive, featuring an all-original theme song, 'Reach for The SKy'. as well as exclusive to this release, 'Make Me.' ...If you like Top Gun or Iron Eagle, this is for you.

Tested by the composer on a MiSTer FPGA, an NTSC Genesis model 1 and on an Analogue MegaSG using the MegaSD flashcart.



Compatibility:

**Which one do you choose???

1. MSU-MD: MOST people will want this version. It has been tested on REAL hardware using Terraonion's MegaSD, Krikzz's Mega Everdrive Pro, as well as on MiSTer, and in emulation on Retroarch. 
***IMPORTANT for Everdrive users: Disable the option “Treble Boost” and/or “PCM low pass filter” in the option menu!

2. MD+ version: Only for use on a Terraonion MegaSD flashcart. It may have some music looping you prefer if you have this flashcart. Also, IF you have a MegaSD, why NOT use this version?


INSTRUCTIONS:


MSU-MD Instructions:  [Afterburner II game rom not included]

Step 1: Visit https://www.zeldix.net/t2248-after-burner-ii-md-msu-md and download 'MSU-MD Patch (by ArcadeTV)' and follow instructions to patch your game rom. This patched rom will have the proper header needed (do NOT use a different rom- the MD+ patched rom may have problems in this scenario).

Step 2: Download the **MSU-MD version of the "Reach for the Sky" Sound Pack hosted at https://www.subscribestar.com/sky-magnifique or at 
https://www.zeldix.net/t2248-after-burner-ii-md-msu-md

Step 3: In a new/clean folder, extract the .bin and .cue and .txt file from the 'Reach For The Sky' sound pack into that folder as well as your patched rom. You should copy and paste your rom so you have both a .md file and rename the copy to: cart.rom (Mister likes 'cart.rom' in order to boot). Your folder structure should have:

AfterBurner2_MSU-MD_v1.0_ArcadeTV.bin
AfterBurner2_MSU-MD_v1.0_ArcadeTV.cue
AfterBurner2_MSU-MD_v1.0_ArcadeTV.md
cart.rom
(and maybe some Read me txt files)

Step 4: Copy that clean folder to a directory on your Sd card, etc. and go play!

Step 3: Place the included AB2 MDP.cue and all .wav files (do not edit or rename any files), and AB2 MDP.md and copy to SD card on MD+ compatible hardware (Mega SD).

Step 4: Copy that clean folder to a directory on your Sd card, etc. and go play!
